Home Decoration Ideas
When some one tells me that they are working on their home decoration initiative but are confused as to where to start, then my first suggestion to them is to step outside. When some one is planning to come to your home the first impression about your home would be the main entrance door and the walkway towards that door. These two areas are one of the most ignored areas in a home. Designing a proper door decoration theme and putting sculptures or planters at the entrance area sets the tone for rest of the interior.
On one hand it tells the visitors that you are the person who has complete focus on details and it also generates curiosity in the mind of visitors which makes them keenly look forward to enter in your home. This curiosity coupled with a good decor inside the home completes the interior loop and your visitor would be awe-stuck even before you speak a word about your place.
There are a few things that you should keep in mind while designing the door area and the entrance area. First is the color theme: Though earthen colors work well on the outside as they can withstand the elements without much wear and tear but if the interiors of your home have a modern theme then you will have to leave the earthern colors and take a bolder approach where you can either choose steel planters or steel artifacts. You would also have to pick solid colors that would preparethe user for the bigger interior design theme that they would find once they enter through the door.
The color and styling of the door also matters a lot. Though a darker mahagony shade goes well with lighter color walls yet the design on the door, the carving and other style must match the interiors of your home. For traditional interior design, you can go with carvings but for modern touch leave the door design plain and put a plain bold decor piece on it to give it a unique character.

Steps to Increase the Value of your Houses For Sale in the Philippines
One of the first steps in selling your house in the Philippines is to make house improvements – meaning, inspecting the house with a buyer’s eye, not with a homeowner’s eye as this may make you blind to the flaws of your house.
Correct the flaws you can see (especially if they are affordable) – which can start from checking and oiling hinges on the doors to repainting dull lifeless walls in the living room. Fixing the physical flaws of the house can definitely increase the value of your home when you are ready to sell it on the real estate market.
Now whether you are ready to take on a massive renovation or just a few small fixes to your house, here are a few ideas you can explore:
1. Paint – called the Botox for house. Everybody knows a fresh coat of paint in the right colors gives a new view of your house or wall. Visit your nearby hardware store like Ace hardware/True Value/Handyman to get a can of environment friendly paint with unpleasant fumes. This is not the time to experiment – stick to the basic colors for now, and let the new owners (who’ll hopefully buy your Philippines Real Estate property) decide when they settle in.
2. Landscaping – spend a few thousands on making your garden a haven of flowers and trees. Take inspiration from magazine if you want to do it yourself, or hire the services of a professional landscaper. Can take you back from P40,000-P100,000 depending on how big your garden or area is and how complexity of the design. You don’t need over the top plants – choose from the top 10 NASA plants to efficiently purify the toxins produced in your home.
3. Wash – can’t afford a new can of paint? Why not Wash? Give your house a good scrub down – the screens, windows, pressure wash walls, gutters, etc. Do the same inside.
4. Clean the floors – Got extra money to burn? New flooring does wonders. Try vinyl tiles in different shades and patterns. Can’t afford to do so? How about washing floors, steam cleaning carpets, filling up holes – make it shiny and clean. You’ll never know who’s going to step in your front door!
5. Face lift the kitchen – one of the most important parts of the house. Consider new plumbing fixtures, cupboards and countertops. It doesn’t have to be spectacular or something out of MTV’s Cribs. You just need it to be clean, presentable & usable.
6. This is probably the cheapest: clean your lighting fixtures – some can be deep in dust, admit it. Clean those by wiping with dry cloth or dusting it off, you’ll notice they’ll be brighter. Replace busted bulbs. Fix wirings (but be careful and I suggest leaving this to the professionals).
7. Renovate the bathroom – don’t be caught by potential buyers with a toilet bowl that doesn’t flush! How embarrassing! Make sure curtains are clean (no water marks please), missing grouts are replaced, and if you have extra money, repaint it to make it sparkly new again. No need to make it lavish – just clean, presentable and definitely usable. Want to add oomph factor to your bathroom? Install a new tub or sink!
First impressions do last, especially when it comes to houses. People don’t want an old looking, used up house, they want something new and clean, and it’s your job to paint that pretty picture of a growing family, a good and new-looking house to them.
These are just some ideas you can try out if you want to increase the value of your home for sale in the Philippines, but this you should remember: the value of the house depreciates over 30 years. After 30 years, the house value = zero! Your next best bet is zonal value which can rise and fall depending on several market factors. What other steps can you suggest? Do share!
